The rooms are fairly large but quite smelly, and the lift moves painfully slowly. The building was put up a few decades ago. For the same expense, Hotel Renaissance is a much better option.

For a budget stay near Cox’s Bazar beach, Hotel Sea Queen is passable if you’re okay with basic amenities and possible cleanliness problems. The rooftop terrace with a beach glimpse is a nice extra at this price, and the location is handy for the beach and transport. Mid-range accommodation may suit you better if you expect clean rooms, reliable AC, and a fuller set of amenities. The hotel is on Main Road Jhawtala, around a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal and about 10 minutes by rickshaw to Laboni Beach. Rates are about $12-14 a night. Basics listed include TV, toiletries, fan/AC claims, free parking, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry. But guests have reported extremely dirty rooms and bathrooms, roaches, mosquitoes, missing AC or just a ceiling fan, rare Western toilets, Wi-Fi limited to the lobby, and unreliable hot water. Service reports vary, with some guests finding staff rude or unhelpful and a few praising attentive staff. Before booking, confirm the room type and whether it has AC, a Western toilet, and Wi-Fi. Check the room when you arrive and ask for another if needed. Bring mosquito repellent and check the cleanliness.

They didn’t answer the phone. You can call hundreds of times and still get no response.

The room is cheap and clean, but the washroom is bad and the water tap keeps leaking. Our power went out briefly because of bad wiring. The electrician came very quickly and fixed it.
