Sunset Bay Hotel

The location is fantastic, and breakfast was great. The staff were very active, and everything else was perfect for me. The mosquito problem was the one issue. They should provide electric “Good night mosquito repellent” devices.

The rooftop view was the only good part of our stay. The hotel felt poorly managed, the service was bad, and the price made no sense for what we got. It honestly felt as if we were staying for free, with no real management or service, and the hotel isn't even one star in my view. Please check the reviews first, or a stay at a place like this could make your trip a nightmare. Our room didn't feel like a sea-view room at all. There was only a small window, and the sea wasn't clearly visible, so it felt like being shut in between four walls. The balcony shown on social media isn't open to everyone either. It's part of a family room, so if that room is reserved, nobody else can use it. They showed us one room and then gave us another, claiming it was the same one. The AC remote didn't work. For cleaning, we had to call several times before a staff member came, and they seemed unwilling and still didn't clean properly. There were lots of cockroaches and insects in the room. The location made getting around difficult. We couldn't find a rickshaw or auto, and a wall behind the hotel meant we couldn't get to the beach beside it.

The staff behaved well and the service was okay, though management had some problems. The bathroom wasn't clean, and the sea-view window was permanently locked.

If you get a room with a balcony, the direct sea view is the best part. It looks awesome. But the room condition and service don't match the price, so I wouldn't book online. I'd go there first, then decide whether to take a room.
