Hotel Blue Castle

The service was amazing, and breakfast was included. We had fruit salad, toast with butter and jam, local dal paratha, and a poached egg. I stayed for one night with my wife and our 18-month-old son. The room was clean and had basic things like a small fridge, AC, sofa, table, cupboard, and TV. The washroom had toothpaste, a brush, and clean towels too.

This might do if you need somewhere near Dhaka airport for a very short stay, but I wouldn't choose it for a family unless necessary. The rooms are tiny, the furniture is below average, and water clogs in the washroom. Breakfast is basic, included more in name than substance. It's a house rather than a star-rated hotel, and the nightly rate feels high for the quality. Poor value for money.

We liked our stay and would consider coming back. Check-in and checkout were easy, with cash, mobile money, and card accepted. We booked through an online travel site and got 40% off. The place was clean and felt secure, with almost everything needed for one night, and the staff were usually around, professional, and courteous. It's also just a 10-minute drive from both the airport and railway station. Finding the hotel was awkward because there was no sign outside. The restaurant seemed short staffed: our biryani took nearly an hour, and I saw one person trying to handle everyone's orders. We also had mosquitoes. A staff member came right away to deal with them, but the job wasn't done very well.

The location is really good, but the rooms don't match the tariff. There are mosquito warnings posted in every corner telling you to keep the door shut, which looks a little crazy. Seeing mosquitoes everywhere is unsettling.
