The rooms were comfortable, clean, and looked after well, and the staff were polite and attentive during our visit. There’s plenty of greenery and open space, so it feels calm and makes it easy to relax. Sonargaon Royal Resort also has facilities for events and other leisure activities. It’s a good-value spot for a family trip or a quick break from the city.

The manager argued with guests and spoke to them in an aggressive, confrontational way. I found the staff stupid and disrespectful. If you doubt that, go see the lobby for yourself. Major red flag, I wouldn't stay here.

The food was delicious. We tried the Bangla set menu and really enjoyed it, and the resort has a warm, welcoming feel. It's also in a great spot, close to Panam City and the Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Museum, so sightseeing is convenient. One thing that bothered me: I started taking pictures with a camera and a guard told me it wasn't allowed. Nobody had mentioned that rule beforehand, which felt rude and inconvenient. Taking photos on a mobile phone is allowed, but guests should be told the policy in advance. It's a nice resort with good food and a good location, though they need to make the photography rules clear.
