Uncle Kamal Saab, the Managing Director, made sure we were looked after and never overcharged. He was easy to rely on, whether we needed recommendations for trustworthy places to eat or genuine contacts for official tasks. The hotel itself was clean, reasonably priced, and well located. Our room was cleaned every day, and the food was consistently fresh and prepared to high hygiene standards, which mattered a lot since it was our three young children's first visit to Bangladesh. I came from London with my wife and children, and we've already decided we'll stay here again next time. I'd especially recommend it to people from the Bangladeshi diaspora visiting from the West.

Breakfast options were very limited, and my room, 602B, had no table, chairs, sofa, or wall clock. Slippers weren't provided either. Some of the toilets are outside the rooms.

The cooking was a highlight for me, with plenty of tasty dishes for different preferences. The staff were attentive and professional, and did more than expected to make the stay pleasant. Hotel Fortune Garden in Sylhet is an older property, but it's impressively clean and has a warm, welcoming feel that makes you comfortable. A lovely choice for a comfortable visit to Sylhet.
