The owners live right next door and were very friendly to deal with. The apartment was nicely furnished, very clean, and had everything we needed, including air conditioning. There’s a lovely little seating spot outside by a hedge, and you can park your car there. Dogs are welcome too! 👍 A great base for a wonderful holiday.

The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing break, and we had a wonderful stay in a peaceful spot near Brussels. The weather wasn’t very good, though, so I didn’t get to take a walk around the neighborhood like I’d hoped.

I went with my two dogs and loved how peaceful it was. If you get creative with the junctions, dozens of walking routes start right at the house. I’m going again next year, probably for longer. The place was clean and quietly located, reasonably priced, with a good shower and a spacious living room. The kitchen was well equipped, there was somewhere to sit outside, and plenty of storage with places to hang clothes or towels. We got a friendly welcome and lots of information about things to do in the area. A few things to know: it really suits two people, and you’ll need to like each other because the double bed isn’t very wide ;-) There might be room for a third person on the pull-out sofa, but the cottage would feel very full. You’ll need to drive several kilometers to reach supermarkets. And if you have mobility issues, this may not work for you: the living room and bed are upstairs, while the kitchen, dining table, and bathroom are downstairs. For inexpensive meals with daily specials, try Resto Bascule (Markt Asse) or Brasserie de Vos (Affligemdreef near the Abbey). Pizzeria Unica (N9 Asse) makes very tasty takeaway pizzas with love.

It’s a good base for sightseeing around Belgium. You can drive ten minutes to the train station and park there. The accommodation is very good otherwise, though I did miss having a washing machine and a toilet upstairs.
