Luxury Spa Retreat in Theux

The facilities look impressive, but they aren't maintained well. The room had a really unpleasant musty smell when we walked in, and there was a strong sewage smell in the pool. The sauna also couldn't get very warm, far too cold for us. We expected good service for the price, but there was no sense of hospitality at all. After we left, we were shocked to find an extra amount charged, apparently decided by the owners to cover heating. Nobody took a meter reading when we arrived or departed. For an expensive, high end place, we certainly didn't expect an extra heating charge. The price is exorbitant, and we won't return.

The loft looks great and is furnished really well, and breakfast was fantastic. The price felt a bit high for what we got, though. The pool was the main letdown: cold and not very clean, with sand, spiders and mosquitoes. The pool cleaner was underwater, but didn’t seem to be doing anything.

The room was lovely, very clean, and had everything we needed. We had a great time this weekend, and I really appreciated the help getting to my room. Thanks for a lovely stay. I’d happily recommend it.

The cottage looks really attractive, and the jacuzzi and sauna were excellent. But for the price, I expected much better quality. The welcome felt lukewarm, and the hammam door wouldn’t close properly, so the heat escaped. There was something like sand at the bottom of the pool, too. The equipment also didn’t match the description and photos: no DVD player, no slide, and one bedroom was inaccessible. We couldn’t see any meters, but were still charged for water, electricity, and heating oil.
