We came in mid-March and woke to sunny green pastures with a light frost. I was in the Queen Elisabeth Suite, and the views through the patio doors were magical. The country air helped us properly relax, and we had some of the best sleeps of our lives. I can imagine the scene feels otherworldly in summer. B&B De Bergvallei works for solo travellers, couples, and families. There are long walks around the farm estate, and Katrien and Jan make sure you set off well fed with West Flemish breakfast: lovely coffee, fresh pastries, and delicious yoghurt and milk made from the farm’s produce. They’re professional, know their work, and have a great eye for decor. It’s a real West Flemish welcome. Children have plenty to do outside, including trampolines, swings, slides, and BBQ areas, all in a safe, secure setting. The huge cowshed has 130 cows, each with a name, plus massaging machines, automatic milking machines, and a nursery for the calves. The whole family was spellbound. There’s very little I can add to the glowing reviews, but this place really is the real deal. We can’t recommend it enough. A round of applause from Ireland, Katrien and Jan, and a thousand thanks.

The grounds are lovely, with pleasant seating areas and a good breakfast made with super fresh food. Our room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It has a ranch-like B&B feel, and the hosts are very kind. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Europe, with homemade yoghurts, cakes, and pastries. The owners are so sweet and thoughtful with all of us. The kids loved the playground, trampoline, go-carts, cows, and more. Everything was gorgeous and clean. We hope we can come back one day.
