Bryghia Hotel

There were good and bad points to our stay. The location is the hotel's biggest asset, just a short walk from the center. Our room was nice, and the bed was spacious. But one of the sheets had spots, which isn't up to the standard of a three-star hotel. Breakfast was pretty basic too. If you want a more substantial morning meal, there are better choices nearby.

Brugge really does feel like a fairytale, and this cozy hotel fits right in. It’s in a peaceful part of town, close enough to reach the places you want to see, and the building stayed quiet at night with hardly any cars passing. We had a lovely stay, and the room matched the photos and the owners’ website description exactly. There was even a detailed list in the room, very neat and thorough. It was so clean I felt comfortable walking around barefoot, which I rarely do in hotels. The welcome was the best check-in I’ve ever had, even compared with stays at three to five star hotels in several cities. The staff were warm and engaging, and especially helpful for anyone visiting the city for the first time. They explained where to park, what to see, and more. We’d happily come back when we show Brugge to our friends. The people looking after the hotel were among the best concierges I’ve met. Thanks for such a great stay, and stay well until next time!

This was my first solo trip since my husband passed away, and the family run hotel made the whole experience feel easy. From arrival to departure, everyone helped me feel welcome and at ease. My room was very comfortable, with a lovely canal view. Watching the parent coots with their baby was a real treat. The location also made it easy to get around this beautiful city, while the hotel itself was remarkably quiet. The Bryghia is a real gem. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The owner was friendly, and the comfortable hotel is an easy walk from several restaurants and the centre of Brugge. The one issue for us was ventilation during our stay. The owner said they hoped to install air conditioning, but that would depend on the building regulations because of the building’s age.
