I loved that the place feels like a little castle, and the owner, Veerle, was so warm and welcoming. She showed us the kitchen, which we enjoyed using later for tea and coffee, and pointed out current events in Brugge like Winter Glow. She was like a cultural ambassador :) The location was another favorite: it's in a more local, less touristy area, where we found some of the best restaurants nearby and got to experience a more authentic Brugge.

We were blown away when the host showed us to our room. It was beautiful, and the photos really don't do it justice. The style, comfortable bed, and cleanliness were all 5*. We also liked having a shared communal area. The view from our windows was of the big factory opposite, and the walk to the main 'town' took about 20 minutes. We knew that from the listing, so it wasn't a big problem for us, but it's worth keeping in mind if you have little legs in your party. Driving from Le Shuttle was easy, and the sat nav took us straight there. The gate opened with the code, and having parking was a big plus. We buzzed and the host came to let us in. All in all, I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel for a lovely break in Bruges.

I made an honest mistake with the dates for a family trip to Bruges and contacted the hotel right away. They wouldn't change the booking, offer credit, or make any exception, even though the room was likely resold. I had been looking forward to the stay with my children, so the lack of basic customer care was especially disappointing. Policies are one thing, but they showed no willingness to help. If anything goes wrong with your booking, don't expect support. I'd strongly suggest looking at other hotels.
