Malleberg

The small number of rooms meant it never felt noisy or crowded, and the hotel had plenty of restaurant and sightseeing suggestions. Just ask at the front desk. We were told exactly how to get in and collect our keys because we were arriving just after reception closed, and the directions were completely clear. Communication was on point from the moment we booked for our honeymoon. For us, being vegan and eating a plant-based diet, breakfast was a huge selling point, and it was unreal. It’s frustrating to wake up in an unfamiliar city and have to find a decent breakfast, but at Hotel Malleberg they had us covered. The hotel is maybe a four- or five-minute walk from everything we wanted in town, which was another big highlight. There’s no lift, so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. The staircase is wide with deep steps, not a narrow stairwell with short steps. Literally everything was perfect at Hotel Malleberg. Hands down the best hotel in Bruges, and I can’t recommend it enough, especially for a vegan.

Eva and Niels made us feel welcome and were so helpful. The room was roomy, and breakfast was delicious. I love staying in independent hotels for their character, and Hotel Malleberg has plenty of it. It’s a quaint place right in the center, just steps from the main squares.

Those beams gave our basic bedroom a really cosy feel, and the location made it easy to get to the sights, bars and restaurants. We stayed three nights at Hotel Malleberg. Breakfast was such a treat: fully plant based, filling, delicious, and spread out with homemade treats. Easily a 10/10 for us.

We spent New Year's Eve 2026 here with our family, and the beds were comfortable. The owners personally welcome guests, which made an impression on me. Set in a historic building in central Bruges, the hotel has a lovely atmospheric interior. I have only the best things to say and highly recommend Malleberg Hotel in Bruges.
