The hotel itself seemed fine, but the reception experience left us with a very poor first impression. We’d just arrived from a long flight and were exhausted, yet the staff member at the desk kept talking on the phone and made us wait without acknowledging us or helping with check-in. Things seemed to be going smoothly until they asked for a credit card for the deposit. We didn’t have one with us, and explained that. They required cash instead, which would have meant dealing with exchange rates and converting currency. We politely offered to leave our passports temporarily and let the staff check the room the next day before giving them back, but they refused straight away. We said we’d try to arrange the cash deposit, and asked if we could first go up briefly to drop our bags and change our shoes after the journey. Again, they refused without trying to help or suggest another option. They just told us to find an ATM to exchange money, even though it was quite far away. A little flexibility and basic kindness after such a long trip would have made a big difference. The lack of hospitality at reception was really disappointing.

The location made it easy to explore on foot. Centraal Station is about a 5-6 minute walk away, and the main tourist centre takes around 7-8 minutes to reach. We were comfortable without needing the metro or other transport. After long walks in the cold, snowy winter weather, the small spa was just what we needed to relax and recharge. Our room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable, and the bed was the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We had the best night’s sleep of the trip. The staff were truly excellent, always friendly and attentive, and happy to go the extra mile even for small requests. That hospitality made our stay at 9Hotel Sablon special, and we’d gladly return. My only minor suggestion is to make sure there are enough bathroom amenities for a four-star hotel. It didn’t take away from an otherwise excellent stay, and we’re already planning another visit. Thank you! 🌟

The location is the one good thing here. The rooms were cold, with the heater off even after I politely asked for it to be turned on when the temperature was 15 degrees. There was a terrible smell from the shower, and breakfast was fairly poor. This doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel.

After a day in the city, 9Hotel Sablon Brussels feels calm and comfortable. Its contemporary style is tasteful, and the atmosphere is relaxed without feeling impersonal. Compared with other peaceful experiences I’ve had, including Saunadelizia, this makes for a stylish city stay with a good sense of comfort and balance.

Care and professionalism show in the details throughout this refined boutique hotel. The service was excellent, the design elegant, and the dining experience very pleasant. It has a distinctive atmosphere.
