Ambiorix Bed Breakfast

The owners are lovely, and breakfast was good, but the place is so noisy. I could hear the person in the next room breathing at night, and you can hear everything. The owner is adorable, but she welcomes guests at all hours and speaks loudly for ages. The bathroom was very clean, though it’s shared with the other guests on the floor, and the toilet is in there too. If you urgently need it while someone is showering, you’re out of luck. At this price, I’d expect a private bathroom and more peace, like the other nearby hotels offer.

The hosts were friendly, and there’s a lovely little private garden. The location is great, with a bus stop less than an eight-minute walk away. The pancakes at breakfast were great.

It’s hard to get everything right in the hotel business, but Ambiorix birch house strikes a good balance between professional service and hospitality. The rooms are large, they’re flexible, and the breakfast is extraordinary. The people here clearly love their work. This will be my usual place when I’m in brussels.

The place and its surroundings are nice, but the walls don’t keep much sound out. You can hear pretty much everything the neighbors say and do, so your holiday depends on whether they happen to be quiet.
