Aparthotel Saint Gery

For a stay in the middle of Brussels, the value is hard to beat. We eventually found the place, though it was tricky at first: you may need to enter through the restaurant and head toward the back to reach check-in, since tables and chairs block the hotel desk from the bar. Our second-floor room was very clean, and we were surprised that we couldn't hear the restaurant noise. The bed was soft; the pillows were a little disappointing but didn't spoil the stay. The bathtub was the standout and made this boutique hotel feel almost luxurious.

After checkout, we still haven't received the promised refund for our first night. The man who introduced himself as the hotel owner acknowledged our problems the night before we left, said he'd compensate us with that refund, and told us it would be processed within a week after we gave him our bank details. A month later, nothing had arrived, and we couldn't get in touch with the hotel again. Our three-night stay was miserable, and the experience was completely unacceptable. We had booked a quiet room months ahead and were explicitly promised an intermediate floor at the back of the building, but instead got a room directly over the bar. We were told the rooms promised to us had gone to other guests, and the noise made sleeping impossible. The room also didn't match our reservation for a double bed: we got two single beds pushed together, making for extremely uncomfortable nights. The sink was blocked, the heating was inadequate, and hot water was either absent or lasted only a few minutes, making basic hygiene impossible. One night, even though we specifically asked for a heater, we weren't given one and had to sleep cold. From check-in onward, there were serious problems, along with misleading information and broken promises. This hotel seems to gain trust from being listed on Booking.com, but our experience felt deceptive. I'm sharing evidence of what happened so others don't choose it based only on the location.

The style is modern and the hotel is very central, but I found the room extremely small, with almost nowhere convenient to put luggage. It sat between two floors and could only be reached by stairs, so it's not accessible. That wasn't an issue for me, but they should mention it when people book.

The room was very clean, and we found the beds extremely comfortable. Staff were polite, friendly, and always ready to help. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice and good quality, and the location made it easy to get around and explore central Brussels. We'd definitely stay again.
