Hotel Agora Bruxelles Grand Place

We spent four nights at Hotel Agora last week, mostly because it’s so well placed. The main Brussels sights are within walking distance, and the central train station is only three minutes away. Everyone on staff was welcoming and helpful, and the room was cleaned well each day, which we appreciated. The room itself was less comfortable. The two twin beds were pushed together, but their separate bedding and tendency to slide apart made sleeping awkward. The kettle didn’t work, and the only toiletries were a combined soap and shampoo dispenser. There was a hair dryer, but no conditioner, lotion, or other extras. Even in cool mid-October weather, the room felt hot and humid, and we couldn’t find a clear way to adjust the temperature. It’s a good fit if being close to the center matters most, though comfort and the usual hotel conveniences take a hit.

We had to climb at least one flight of stairs to reach any room, but the staff helped carry our luggage. Ours was on the small side, though it worked for us. It faced the plaza, so noise carried on until late. The helpful staff and the location made up for a lot: shops, restaurants, attractions, and the metro are all nearby, with most sights an easy walk away.

The building dates to the 1600s and still has its original beams, which gives the hotel a lot of character. We found the reception friendly and welcoming, and they brought our bags up to the room. It sits on a pretty little square with plenty of restaurants and many Brussels sights within walking distance. Brussels Central is only a three-minute walk away, which was perfect for our early flight. I’d happily stay here again on my next trip to Brussels.

Our room had a high ceiling that made it feel airy, and it was just the right size for us, neither cramped nor oversized. The charming design and cozy feel suited a couples’ getaway. Hotel Agora also made exploring easy, with the Grand Place, Central Station (Gare Centrale), and other major sights all walkable. From arrival, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the service felt outstanding. My partner and I loved staying here and would book it again without hesitation if we return to Brussels. Five stars from us, highly recommended.
