The Dominican, Brussels, a Member of Design Hotels

The Dominican was one of the best hotels we stayed at on our European honeymoon. We spent a night in Brussels and really liked the location, the accommodations, and how friendly and helpful the staff were. Our room was nice, with a well-stocked free minibar. They also had free cold water everywhere, which we didn’t find at most places on our trip. Highly recommended!

I loved the room’s design and lighting, especially the cushions, and the bar and its staff were marvelous. I’d really like to thank them for everything. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss: they didn’t replace my toilet paper, so I ran out on the second night. The hotel has a special atmosphere from its decoration, which I really liked. Even though I know the building’s story, the church songs in the elevators and toilets felt very strange. The receptionist wasn’t nice and didn’t explain anything until I asked, though she’d been much more polite and informative with the guests before me. I got tired of asking about things like breakfast and didn’t even ask for the Wi-Fi details.

The breakfast buffet is definitely worth trying, and you can order from a separate menu too. The front desk was super helpful, and our rooms were really quiet. The bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. They even have Dyson hair dryers, which is really nice for the ladies. The location was great for getting to the train stations and sightseeing.

The people here were just as impressive as the hotel. All the staff were hospitable, humble, and friendly. Gilberto and Rochdi helped me find good restaurants, and when I asked for tape to pack my souvenirs securely, Rochdi spent about ten minutes searching the building for some. He really didn’t have to do that. Great service, and my stay was worth every penny. I’ll come back and can’t recommend the place enough. Cleanliness is a top priority for me, and the reviews I read were right. I travel across the U.S. for work and stay in hotels every week, so I notice these things. There wasn’t dust or dirt in the floor or wall corners, no mold in the bathroom, and the carpet was spotless. The building was beautiful and well maintained. The hallway had a subtle, clean scent like essential oils at a resort. The location was perfect, right beside Grand Place Square. My room was beautiful and quiet thanks to the thick walls. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was a complimentary minibar with some of my favorite snacks. I also used the gym on two days. It was very clean, had a sauna, weights and treadmills, everything I need to work out, plus fruit to snack on. I booked after seeing nice photos on the Marriott app, and the actual stay impressed me even more. A 10/10, A+++!
