Villa Sablon

The room was quiet because it faces the front, while the loud club is at the back. It was spacious and clean, with nice new things, including a great shower and bed. A luggage rack would be useful. The heat wasn’t working, but they sent someone to fix it right away, and it worked great after that. They also brought an extra blanket. The kitchen was nice too, with a fridge and coffee and tea available to make.

At Villa Sablon, I had a spacious, comfortable room and used the kitchen every day to make breakfast and a small dinner. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back to this b&b next time I’m in Bruxelles.

Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. I booked one night at this villa five weeks ahead, but almost right away the booking details coming through were wrong. Emails back and forth included mistakes about the room, guest count, and even combining my reservation with another group’s. I was told everything had been fixed and we were all set. When we arrived, there was no front desk, so I confirmed over WhatsApp where to leave our bags while we went sightseeing. That evening, we were locked out of the room and told the reservation was lost and we had to leave. Customer service was disorganized and unhelpful. After I sent screenshots and forwarded their confirmation emails, Villa Sablon said they had booked me for a different night and the room had been double booked. My reservation no longer existed.

I’ve never had a worse hotel stay. The shower was completely unusable, just a tiny trickle of icy water, so washing wasn’t possible. A working shower is a basic requirement, and this one didn’t work at all. I’ve asked the hotel staff for a refund repeatedly, but they haven’t responded or apologized. It feels like they’re hoping I’ll give up, and I won’t. Between the broken facilities and lack of accountability, this place feels like a scam, and management seems not to care. I’d rather sleep in my car, pitch a tent, or lie on a park bench than spend money here. Any of those would be cleaner, kinder, and more comfortable.
