Eric made exploring the city easier with his excellent suggestions. Breakfast was fantastic: freshly baked bread each day, homemade jam and yogurt, plus refreshing orange juice. His two friendly cats were a lovely bonus. I highly recommend staying here.

Eric bakes the bread and makes the yogurt himself, and those homemade items were especially delicious. Breakfast was tasty and filling. The accommodation is about equally far from the old town and the European district, roughly a 20-minute walk if you don't take a bus or subway. I highly recommend staying here. It's very peaceful.

We spent four nights here as a base for exploring Belgium. The metro or tram is very close, and from there you can get to the train station for day trips to Bruges or Ghent. The host and his two cats are very friendly. Each morning we enjoyed homemade bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a plate of cold cuts and cheese, including a good range of tasty hams. It's an old house, so bear in mind the room choices: ours had a shower but the toilet was down the hall, while another room has neither in it, with the toilet and shower directly opposite. Next time I'd choose the latter to save a little walk for a quick trip to the loo. Our room had a minifridge and a powerful fan. Venetian blinds and blackout curtains helped us sleep well. The host was friendly and helpful, and the cats were sociable, though they'll leave you alone if you're not interested. The bed was comfortable, and it's right next to the botanical gardens.
