YOOMA Urban Lodge

For a family with several kids on a budget, Yooma Urban Lodge is a lovely option. Everyone gets their own bed, and the cheerful decor and service feel clean and welcoming. There are play and relaxation areas outside the rooms, just as shown in the website pictures. The hotel has a buffet for any meal you want to eat there. On the third floor there's an indoor outdoor eating area with a water filter, fridge, microwave, TV, and bathroom. The location is handy for the metro, weekend outdoor market, train station, and lots of activities, including the best chocolate workshop in Brussels. We felt safe the whole time, whether we went out early for croissants or got back late after dinner.

We loved Yooma Urban Lodge-Brussels and would look at their lodges in other destinations too. It’s set up well for families, and the staff we met were all friendly and keen to help. They even put our car in the garage before check in, since there happened to be a space. Our family room worked perfectly for us and our two teenagers. They were happy with the bunk beds, USB ports, and privacy section, and the bathroom shower was so good I wanted to take it home! The walk into the centre suits the location, but one of my children thought the area was “a bit sketchy.” Just keep an eye on your surroundings on the way, though that applies to the whole city.

Really good setup for five people. The kids were happy with the bunks, and it was nice not having to book separate connected rooms. Fun decor, handy storage lockers downstairs, and friendly, helpful staff. A great find!

Inside, Yooma Urban Lodge was clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, and I enjoyed the good quality and variety at breakfast on my first morning. The price was reasonable too. It's around a ten minute walk from Brussels-Midi Station, which is convenient, but the walk there passed quite a bit of litter and left a poor first impression. I also held back from giving it four stars because of housekeeping. When I got back to my room, the bed looked as if someone had been lying on it. Maybe it was just an oversight, but it made me uncomfortable. Still, it has potential and offers good value if being near the station matters to you.
