Domus Damme

The cottage itself was lovely and had most of what we needed. Damme is handy, and Bruges is easy to reach by car. Parking is outside the center, though, so there’s a bit of a walk. The real issue came afterward. There was a sudden leak that we hadn’t noticed and didn’t cause. Nobody was using the wood stove in summer, but the owners still heavily implied it was our fault. They also haven’t returned the full deposit. They said the tourist tax had to come out of it, even though that should be included in the price rather than taken from the deposit. We stayed respectful in our messages, but got no reply, and we’re still about 100 euros short. A beautiful cottage, but the stressful dealings with the owners after our stay mean I can’t recommend it.
