Holiday Suites Limburg

There are some great restaurants about 10 minutes away in Genk, and the setting is tranquil and lovely. The site itself, though, feels like an apartment block dropped into a beautiful forest preserve, and the paths have a lot of streetlights causing light pollution. The living room is a good size, and the beds were comfortable, though the pillows were lumpy and the bedrooms small. The furniture looked worn, but the place was clean and the hard, tiled surfaces had been updated. It cost the same as a hotel, yet we had to do all the cleaning and housekeeping ourselves. Assistance was only remote, but they were attentive.

The room was small, though it had what you needed. The leather was peeling off the sofa, and they'd just covered it with a blanket. Noise from other rooms came through the vents, and having to leave the car at the park entrance was annoying. I doubt that lot was guarded either. It wasn't terrible, but we're not coming back.

Our suite had a really bad sewer gas smell, which was the main reason for the low rating. We kept the doors open, and that helped. The place seemed brand new, very clean, and the furniture and other items were all really nice. There wasn't a front desk, and because we arrived late and left early every morning, we weren't sure who to contact. The bathrooms also lacked hooks and a usable shelf. The towel rack was so high it was useless, and the sink was too small to set down a shaving kit and use it.

On my fourth visit, I wasn't happy with the lack of attention to detail. Some appliances didn't work, one room had dog hair, and a third room was better, but the shower still didn't drain properly. It used to be a really nice place to stay. At this point, I wouldn't recommend it for a family.
