Appart-Hotel Léopold Liège Centre

I paid for a booking, then had to find somewhere else in the middle of the night. This place just wants to rip you off. I spend 150 nights a year in hotels around the world, and this was by far my worst experience. I’ll report it to the police and the tax office. Don’t book here.

There are no contact details, and there’s no reception. Appart-Hotel Léopold Liège Centre is in a closed-off area, and it took a lot of searching among the restaurants and cafes to figure out where it was, or where the reception and nearby parking might be. If you’re lucky enough to find the guy working there, you still may not be able to check in: they require 200 euros in cash, and they’ll turn you away if you don’t have it. Beware, your money may be seized and not refunded, and you won’t be able to check in. It looks like a fake booking. Be careful 🚫. It’s the worst place in Europe.

The staff were kind, helpful, and very forthcoming. We had a beautiful old interior in our huge, clean, well-equipped apartment for four, and spent two amazing nights there with friends. The city center is within walking distance, and the bar downstairs is lovely for drinks. One unusual detail didn’t bother us: our bathroom had a curtain instead of a door.

The location looks nice, but parking is a hassle. The entrance is an unmarked random door, the hallway is much too small, and in a group the rooms are all separate. After our neighbors had a party, they blamed us. We left the apartment clean, but they threw things on the floor themselves and kept the deposit. Take pictures when you leave. When I asked for a proper explanation, they blocked me on WhatsApp. No respect. Check the pictures. The owner’s response is ridiculous. Booking.com is collecting evidence and watching them, and says one more scam will get them removed. I’m an expert reviewer and always honest. You don’t want to get caught up in this shady business. HORRIBLE! SCAM! The negative reviews are true. Don’t go here.
