C-Hotels Silt

The room deserves 6/5, the location 7/5, and the service 5/5. It's a really nice hotel. My main gripe is the €195 charge for a two-hour wellness session for hotel guests. Maybe that price makes sense for non-guests. I also missed having a rooftop bar and restaurant. And with the sea salt clearly affecting the building's structure, even half a year after opening, I wonder how they'll manage the maintenance.

I was generally happy with Hotel Silt itself, but the restaurant attached to it left a very bad impression and seriously affected how I saw the hotel. Although it was almost empty, we couldn't choose our table. The waitstaff were unfriendly, and the manager was especially unpleasant and inflexible. We were told we had to order a main course, even though we offered to pay extra for just an appetizer. One person in our group only wanted a salad, and another wanted an appetizer as their main course, but neither was allowed. They even refused a simple request to get the salad from an existing dish without the meat. Prices felt high for the poor quality and rigid service. Apparently the restaurant is run independently, but guests aren't told that, so it comes across as part of the hotel. That poor service and attitude reflect very badly on the whole place. I strongly urge hotel management to address this, since it could put people off returning.

I'm usually more drawn to historic hotels with character, but the modern room here was tastefully decorated and cosy. The breakfast buffet was so good and high quality that I'd happily pay extra to have it as a non-guest. The Seaview was hard to beat, too. I'll definitely be back.

The views are lovely, and bar prices are quite reasonable, much like the other sea-front cafes. The sun made the bar area very hot, though I can't really complain about that at the end of October 2024. In summer, I can imagine it feeling like a goldfish bowl. The location is lovely, with the casino, hotel, restaurants and bar all there. The entrance feels clinical, with lots of concrete and little character. Some large artwork might help. It's also a shame they don't make better use of the outdoor space by extending the patio into a pleasant sea-view cafe. Love the views ♥️
