Best western l'auberge

We keep returning to this restaurant and it’s never let us down. The wine list is good, and the table service is excellent. For dinner, I’d recommend the spare ribs, salmon, and pork cheeks. It’s our favorite place to eat in Spa.

Even on a Thursday afternoon, L’Auberge was packed, and it’s easy to see why. The room had a lively feel, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. I had the mussels in garlic sauce, with a generous serving of fries. They were fresh, meaty, and cooked just right. A small appetizer came with the meal too, which was a nice extra. I paired it with a Spa Orange, a local drink that went really well with the food. The prices seemed reasonable for the quality and service. A fantastic lunch, and I’d highly recommend L’Auberge for seafood.

The food was good and traditional, and the two young waiters on the terrace were adorable and looked after us so well. We’d have given four stars, but inside we were greeted really badly by a rude waiter. We’d reserved a table for two indoors, yet he sent us to a horrible spot in an empty restaurant. We only stayed because we decided to move to the terrace.

We only spent one night here, and everyone seemed comfortable speaking English. The hotel is centrally located, well furnished, and our spacious room had modern decor. Breakfast was a classic European buffet with a nice range of options. The restaurant was first class, with proper, attentive service. Its menu mixes classic dishes with a strong focus on fish, all very well prepared and presented. The wine list was interesting, especially the half-bottle selection. Good value for the quality, and recommended.
