After kayaking, we went in through reception hoping to get lunch. It was 1:34 pm, and the receptionist said the restaurant had closed at 1:30. I pointed out it was only four minutes past closing, but she replied rather arrogantly, “This is a gastronomy restaurant, not a brasserie.” A little kindness or flexibility would have made a difference after a long outdoor activity. We’d been thinking about staying here for a future holiday, but that experience changed our minds.

We had a wonderful lunch on a weekend trip from Brussels, with relatives joining us from Northern France. The location was beautiful, the food fantastic, and the service both friendly and professional. We’ll definitely be back!

The restaurant was superb, especially the dessert, which brought us back three times. We’ll certainly visit again. My wife and I also had a very nice stay: breakfast was lovely, the room was okay, and the location was excellent, with plenty of parking, many hiking trails nearby, and the Semois right beside it. Some trails are challenging, and it’s a great spot for a canoe trip or an evening walk along the river. Our room didn’t have AC. It was hot, but that didn’t bother us much because the room didn’t face south.

We loved the delicate flavors in the appetizer, chicken main course, and dessert. Breakfast was delicious too. In the morning, we walked by the river near the hotel and were amazed by the scenery.

The atmosphere was nice, but I won’t be coming back. We arrived at 19:00 and didn’t leave until 22:30 because of the long gaps between courses. The Bib Gourmand menu wasn’t very good, and the dessert had almost no flavor. At 48€, it wasn’t worth it. My friends skipped the menu and chose the half-homard with pasta, which they enjoyed quite a lot.
