I found Sonja and Marc great company, and they know a remarkable amount about the area's military history and its importance to British visitors. Staying with them felt like staying with friends. The house was clean, tidy and nicely presented, and wonderfully quiet at night. La Passarelle B&B is on Menin Road, about one and a half miles directly east of Ypres, making it a good base for visiting almost anywhere in the Salient. I thoroughly recommend it and plan to stay again while searching for family lost in WW1.
