B&b Hof Van Steelant

We stopped for one quick night on the way back from Germany. The motorway was easy to reach, and the area felt quite upmarket, with private parking. The hosts were really nice, and the rooms were clean, lovely, and had comfortable beds. Breakfast was really good before our 45-minute drive to Dunkirk to catch the ferry back to the UK.

I still remember our few days here. Francois and Marleen were super friendly, welcoming hosts, and their long-haired sausage dog Fidel was adorable, friendly, and so well behaved that I wanted to take him home. The B&B was spotless and relaxing, with a touch of luxury and class. The decor was tasteful, the gardens were plentiful and peaceful, with modern furniture and beautiful flower meadows, and there was lots of free parking. Staying here felt like a little piece of heaven. I'd highly recommend it.

After the bustle of Bruges, this gorgeous little B&B was a lovely place to rest. It's just outside Loppem, a village south of Bruges, and the old buildings are under heritage protection, so they can't even change the colours. Sheep and ducks were on the property, which backs onto a reserve with a castle, and it was a great spot for a walk. We also found the fabulous little pub Herberge up the road for dinner. Everything was within walking distance.

My wife and I had a brief holiday here and it was just right. The setting is beautiful, and the owners were fantastic. We'll visit again!
