It was okay.

We hired both holiday homes, including the Pieter-Lapon house, for a group of adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Nele was wonderfully hospitable, replying straight away to every question by email or phone. She even gave us fresh eggs and homemade chocolates. Visiting the viewing farm was a lovely experience, and our guests really enjoyed the farm café, an honesty bar open 24/7. The covered terrace was pleasant too, and the play barn gave everyone a chance to burn off some energy. The one small issue was hygiene. There were cobwebs on the ceilings, which frightened some of our guests. I understand it’s an older farmhouse and keeping it properly maintained can be difficult. Even so, I can and will give this holiday home 5/5, and I definitely recommend it.

We spent June 2nd to 4th at Gasthof Lophem with management for strategy days. It’s a lovely, very suitable spot for combining study sessions with team building. We were welcomed and supported so well by the hostess, and had productive days alongside some enjoyable downtime. We’ll definitely keep it in mind for future seminars.

Room 13 was completely neglected, even though the shared areas were well kept. The curtains were coming down from the ceiling, and we couldn’t find the room light switch ourselves. Finding the bathroom light was impossible without a flashlight, and the “bathroom” had only one light. The main shower head was so calcified it couldn’t be used. There was one key for the whole group, when having a key for each room would have been easier. We don’t know how the other rooms were, but this one definitely wasn’t worth the money.
