I left the hotel furious. I reported 150e missing from my room, but the reception staff's response felt dismissive and unprofessional, and I was never given the chance to speak with the cleaning lady as promised. I would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of better places for the same or less money, where staff treat you with respect. The money had been on the bedside shelf on 31.12. 2018. I was in the room, in the kitchen, while the cleaning lady was alone in the bedroom for about 5-10 minutes. I noticed it was gone a few hours later, after going into town for lunch. I was certain my five close friends hadn't taken it. They had been my friends for over 15 years, nobody else had entered the room during the trip, and they didn't even know I'd left the money there. I went straight to reception and asked only to speak with the cleaning lady, in case she'd seen the money. The receptionist told me to call the police. They arrived a few hours later, around 9pm, checked the room for signs of a break-in, and found none. They said I could go to the station to give a statement. I told them I was leaving in a day and a half and didn't have time to file a charge or make a statement. In front of the police, the receptionist said she'd call the cleaning lady in the morning so I could speak with her. I agreed, and the police left. The next day, when I came to reception, the receptionist said I couldn't talk to the woman alone without the manager. The night before, she'd also introduced herself to some friends of mine as the hotel manager. She said the manager would come soon and she'd call me, but another day went by and the manager never appeared. The cleaning lady went home, and I was due to leave the next morning. An hour before I left, I asked sarcastically whether the manager was still not there. The receptionist apologized, said she'd call the cleaning lady so I could talk to her, called some number, got no answer, and said the woman wasn't picking up. I laughed and left, angry and at a loss for words. Throughout this, the receptionist kept saying she'd worked there for 15 years, there'd never been a problem like this, and she'd known the cleaning crew for almost 10 years and they were all good women. She also told me to check with my friends because they must have taken the money. She couldn't know that. Why wouldn't they let me speak with the cleaning lady when they'd promised I could? I was left suspecting the whole thing had been planned. The building itself looked nice, the rooms were a decent size, and the comfort was okay, but the way I was treated was awful. Worst hotel ever.
