My friend and I stayed in the area for four nights and would give the hotel the highest rating. The location was excellent, just a very short walk into town, and we felt at home there and in the area. Our room was lovely, and the meals were amazing for people who eat meat and those who don’t. The couple who run the hotel know the area well and gave us excellent information. Transfers went smoothly too. We appreciated their suggestion to take the train from Bansko to Sofia. It takes a long time, but we enjoyed seeing more of the country.

We loved having a roomy shared space to relax, play games, and enjoy drinks together, and the hot tub was a real highlight. The hosts make this place feel like a home away from home, going out of their way to make guests comfortable. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, the homemade cookies were lovely, and the evening meals were delicious. Everything was spotless and well cared for, with the bed made each day and towels changed midway through our stay. My one hesitation was the bathroom layout, with the toilet beside an open shower.

Maria and Krasi have kept this place a favourite of ours for more than 10 years, and it still impresses us. They’re warm and welcoming, while also running a very professional, personal hotel. The food is always fabulous, using local ingredients in traditional recipes. If you’re heading to Bansko for skiing or mountain walks, their advice and help are second to none.

Krasimir helped us get a good discount at a ski rental shop through his contacts, and also gave us paid lifts to the slopes and a nearby spa. Those rides made a big difference to our holiday. Both he and Maria gave us a genuinely friendly welcome. I’d happily recommend staying here.
