Samuel Hotel is right in central Burgas, so restaurants, bars and attractions are easy to reach. I found it a good fit for either work or exploring the city. The rooms are clean and looked after, with what you need for a comfortable stay, and the price feels very reasonable. The manager was especially friendly and flexible, and took care to meet guests' needs. A convenient, comfortable option with good service.

We paid 250BGN for one night, and I wouldn't stay there again even for free. The place doesn't look like the pictures and feels worn out, smelly and sticky. It needs renovating. It's on the third floor above shops, effectively the fourth floor, with very narrow stairs and no lift. The building is tucked in a neighborhood beside a noisy boulevard and far from the beach. The shower has no curtain, so water runs onto the toilet and floods the bathroom, making it unusable afterward. The mattress had a stain and broken springs, and was impossible to sleep on. The linen was poor quality, and the blankets in the wardrobe looked as though they'd never been washed. Overpriced, and I can't recommend it.

There's no reception, so arriving takes some patience. You have to call the number posted on the entrance door, then wait for someone to come with the key. The rooms are very basic, and the place is run down and poorly maintained, quite far from the centre. The shower is over the toilet, and everything gets wet when you use it. Water sits on the bathroom floor for several minutes, apparently because the drainage is poor. Not recommended.

After I paid, he offered to arrange parking, then stopped replying. I messaged twice over the next 4 days to say I'd need a space, and the day before arrival I sent my arrival time. He read that message too and didn't answer. Once inside, the place was a mess and nothing like the photos. There was dirt everywhere, the sofa was filthy and hidden under a cover, and the toaster, sink and surrounding area were dirty. The bathroom had mold, several things were broken, and I found used earplugs under a pillow. I contacted Airbnb support, who were really kind and helped me. I'm very thankful to them.
