Romance Apartment

During the day, we had a small beach nearby, with a lifeguard and mostly hotel guests, so it stayed uncrowded. There was also a pool and a playground for kids. The road in is a bit bumpy for about 0.5km. We ate in Kiten on our first night and found the village really noisy and packed. After that we had dinner at the hotel restaurant instead, where the food was good, the setting was quiet, and we could enjoy a nice view of the sea. Being a little outside Kiten turned out to be a good thing.

It’s tucked away, private and peaceful, and really beautiful. Just don’t count on the restaurant. Bring food or drive to nearby places to eat. The garden is in very poor shape, dry and neglected, and could use trees for shade. They do have a telescope for looking at the stars at night.

The people here were so welcoming and helpful, and took care of every request we had. It’s a place I’d come back to for some peace and relaxation. The hotel is a nice three star place, a bit old but very well maintained, with everything you might want, including a pool, sauna, restaurant and bar. If you’re after a wild beach, there’s one about a two minute walk away that’s shared with visitors from the neighboring campsite. Other beaches are about 15 minutes away on foot, or farther if you drive.

We’d already paid for the full reservation before arriving, then found dirty towels and sheets and the food was bad. The chicken soup they served me was cold and from two days earlier. I didn’t expect anything this awful in my own country. The staff were rude, too. The restaurant is open for just six hours a day, two in the morning from 8 to 10, two from 12 to 14, then dinner from 19 to 21. They even get to tell you when to eat, if you think about it.
