Guest House Dora

We first visited Obzor in August-September 2022 and hope to return. Dora and Panayot were incredibly kind, picking us up from the bus in their car and offering us grapes and figs straight from the tree. They’re genuinely decent, warm people. The hotel is a short walk from the sea, about 8-10 minutes, and we liked being away from beachfront noise, late discos, and barbecue grills. On the way there are a pharmacy, bank, supermarket, fruit stalls, and restaurants. The beach can be paid or free, with two loungers and an umbrella costing 20 leva. At the end of August the sea was calm and clear; by September the wind and waves had arrived, and we were glad to experience both. Changing money was easy, though the weekend rate was a little worse. Our room was clean and cozy, with a balcony, great beds, air conditioning, TV, and excellent internet. Each floor has a kitchen with utensils. There’s also a small clean pool and parking. We liked it so much that we came twice this summer. It’s peaceful, clean, and good value, with bright, roomy family rooms, balconies, and daily cleaning. There’s air conditioning, a fridge, internet, TV, a lovely bathroom, and a spot to relax on the balcony. Every floor has a properly equipped kitchen. The pool is clean and maintained, with loungers for all guests. Outside, there’s a pretty yard with lots of swings and a play area for kids, plus free parking. The hosts are friendly, easygoing, responsive, and kind. The location is handy, close to the bus station and center, and not far from the beach. I’d recommend it. A really quiet place that works well for a family trip with children. The owners are kind and welcoming, and everything is exceptionally clean. Rooms feel comfortable, with big terraces and lovely sea views. Each one has a TV, fan, and electric kettle. There’s a coffee machine, microwave, and iron with ironing board in the hallway. The garden has a swing and gazebo, plus a summer kitchen fully equipped with the appliances you need. I recommend it.

We’ve been welcome guests since 2003, and we love spending time in the sun and by the sea, close to the local people. It’s only a few meters from the water and beach. Dora, thank you. You’re so friendly, capable, and dependable, always willing to help and listen. The place is wonderfully clean and orderly. Five out of five.
