Hotel Antique

The only trouble was finding the place, since Booking.com had the location wrong. Once there, everything was good. The hotel was clean, nicely equipped, and pleasant.

The apartment terrace looked out over the boulevard and the roundabout by Plovdiv's central station. That view came with a downside: traffic noise from the boulevard was extremely loud in rooms facing it. Sleeping with the window open wasn't possible, and air conditioning won't suit everyone. That took away one heart from the rating. Inside, the building has an original, attractive design, and the hotel feels new, clean, and tidy. The apartment had an Illy coffee machine with matching capsules, plus a kettle, dishes, utensils, and a minibar. We like Illy, so we had some coffee with cookies we'd bought. The staff were polite, and you could sense their smiles even behind their masks. We also liked the pillows on the wooden platform in front of the terrace windows. The shower had pleasantly scented liquid soap and gel in dispensers, though there were no disinfectants in the room. The Devin water in the minibar looked newly sealed, but had a faint, odd smoky smell, as if it wasn't fresh. I've had Devin before and it never smelled that way, though I may be mistaken about it. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were nice. There's private parking behind the building. It's close to the train station, though the Old Town is about a 25-minute walk away.

Easy parking and a convenient location made this a good choice. It's family-run, the rooms are clean and nice, and the price is reasonable. I'd recommend it without hesitation.
