The reception staff were friendly and chatty. It's a modernist tower by the monument on the hill. My room was fine and cosy; the lighting was a little unusual and there was a red chiffon net curtain, but everything worked. I'd stay again.

The hotel is far from the city center, and parking costs extra with no guaranteed space. There was no water, a light fixture was broken, and the staff were rude.

I got a room on the 10th floor, and the view was great, as you can see in my picture. The rooms are large, with their own WiFi and a TV with all the channels you could imagine, all free. There are lots of safety measures too, including a solid door with massive locks. The man at reception kindly sorted out my last-minute request to stay another night in the same room, so I didn't have to move. Breakfast had literally anything you could think of. Great hotel, friendly staff and a quick wrap-up. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some bad reviews, but the refurbished old Soviet-style hotel turned out to be really nice and comfortable. The bed was decent, the room quiet, and there was a bath. Breakfast was basic but enough. The location works well, about 10 minutes from the train and bus stations and a similar walk to the old town. There's also a good supermarket across the road.

The scenery is attractive and the location is convenient, but the room didn't meet what I'd expect from a hotel advertised as 4-star. Renovations haven't completely covered up its Soviet-era past.
