Hotel Ricas

The rooms are huge, but badly worn and clearly never repaired. The bathroom had only toilet paper and very diluted liquid soap, apparently meant for everything. The towels were old, thin, and worn out. There's Wi-Fi, but no password that I could find. A garage downstairs exists, but guests can't use it, and the nearby streets are in the paid blue zone, so there's no parking for guests. The reception price was much higher than the booking-site prices, something I'd never encountered before. It was already far more expensive than better hotels in pricier Bulgarian towns, and breakfast wasn't included. Dirty, broken, questionable service, and a total waste of money.

Two men knocked on my door in the middle of the night asking for prostitutes. It was the worst hotel experience I've had, and it made me think this must be a regular thing there. The rooms smelled strongly of smoke even though they say they're non-smoking. Don't stay here, you'll regret it.

There was only one tiny pillow for each person, and no soap for washing. The cigarette smell from both the room and the towels was so strong that it was hard to sleep. This definitely isn't a four-star hotel.

Great for one night: the bed was cozy and it was quiet. The furniture design is really current and looks amazing. It's on the first floor of a new building beside a supermarket, about a seven-minute walk from the city center. For a longer stay, though, there's no restaurant and the rooms lack things like a hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel, or mini fridge. They do have towels, air-conditioning, and a smart TV.
