Emirates Apart Residence

The rooms were very nice, although the pillows could be softer. The gym was fantastic and the hotel staff were nice. The spa was the letdown. You have to wear flip-flops, but they don’t provide them unless you buy them. On the tiled areas, it felt like you could easily slip and break your neck. I also had a very bad experience with a staff member on the afternoon of June 3rd. The “hot” stone beds were cold, so I tried turning up the temperature. A man came over shouting and wagging his finger at me like I was his dog. If guests aren’t meant to adjust something, put up a sign, and don’t let staff speak to customers that way if they haven’t been trained in people skills.

We really liked the apartment’s decor, and the building itself is beautiful. It was spacious, with lovely views, and we also enjoyed having free access to the spa. The complimentary wine was a nice touch, but there was no opener. When I called reception, they told me to contact the restaurant across the hotel and ask them to send someone over. That was far too much hassle, so I eventually pushed the cork into the bottle with a fork. If you leave guests wine, please give them a way to open it. Aside from that, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Avoid this place. The room wasn’t cleaned, and the oven still had food left by the previous guest. The breakfast we’d paid for was no longer available, either. There was one friendly staff member, though I’ve forgotten his name. With no air conditioning, the room was a chilly 35 degrees Celsius for sleeping. Reception’s advice was to open the window, which faced a busy street with cars rushing past. Go somewhere else.

The apartments are great, and our first visit went really well with the pools and spa. On our second trip, we brought our child hoping to use the hot pool together, but children aren’t allowed in it. That upset him and spoiled the trip for us. We won’t be coming back because of that rule.
