Hotel Simona Complex Sofia

The guarded parking was a real bonus, and the location is handy for transit, just off the highway so there's no need to drive into Sofia. The room was modest but fine for a night. The cigarette smoke smell, though, was strong and very unpleasant, hard to put up with.

The restaurant stayed open late, and the hotel allows dogs. It was comfortable, spacious, and clean, right by the motorway, but still quiet enough to sleep well. You can hear some freight vehicles moving through the nearby carpark in the early hours. We were charged for parking even though we were told it was free for guests with cars. We were driving a minivan.

The ring road location makes it easy to reach, though there was some noise at night. The hotel exterior could use work. Inside, the corridors have lots of flowers and an interesting look. Our room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and there's a children's play area in the restaurant. We stayed overnight on our way from Greece; the secured parking behind the hotel was a plus. We were satisfied and would book again.

The mattresses are much too soft and could do with an upgrade. The food was just okay for the prices, and the waiters weren't very attentive. They should check in at the table more often to see if anything is needed. Still, the place has clean rooms, free parking, and a great spot for a stopover. The staff were kind and helpful.
