Hostel Vaso

It’s a small, lovely hideaway in the city center, a good choice if you want peace and quiet. Parking is a problem, and the rooms are a little dated, though that’s understandable at this price. The staff are lovely. 10/10, I’d recommend it.

For the price, I expected more. It may be a little better than an ordinary hostel, but I’d have expected some parking spots from a hotel in the city center. Varna’s drivers can be awful, especially the local ones. I hardly saw any police, while there were batkas everywhere acting like they owned the world. And for such a large city, the infrastructure is the worst in Bulgaria.

We’d booked a room in advance, but when we arrived, we were told there was an electricity problem and sent to the hotel across the street. They said it would cost the same, then the other hotel charged more. Afterward, hotel Vaso told the booking website that WE DIDN'T SHOW UP! Hotel Vaso, minus 10 stars. You could have handled this so much better if you hadn’t lied and falsely reported us. Good luck with future bookings, though!

There’s no parking, and everything nearby is full, so you have to pay. The balcony basically doesn’t exist, the larger one belongs to the next building. The staff are pushy, the towels are old, and the bathroom and toilet weren’t clean. There are no realistic photos. I attached a few pictures, but they still don’t show enough. We started looking for another place as soon as we arrived. Just don’t come here.
