Preslav Hotel - All inclusive

We had a great time here. The beach was about a 7-minute walk, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our family room was spacious and clean, and we really enjoyed the tasty, appetizing food. The kids also got ice cream every day, with different flavors that they liked a lot.

The place was quiet and pretty clean, and the staff were friendly in general. But it's a bit far from the beach, and parking is a headache. For a one-night stay, we paid for 24 hours but only got 12 hours of parking. When I tried to explain that I'd paid for a full day, the staff weren't very friendly. Breakfast was really poor, and when the hotel is full there are hardly any tables to sit and eat at. I wouldn't come back.

The location is nice, and with more investment in housekeeping and comfortable mattresses this place could be much better. As things are, the beds were so uncomfortable that after just one night my back already hurt. The mattresses seemed about 10 years old and cost 50 leva each. There was no soap or shampoo, and everything felt very low-cost. Our room hadn't been cleaned properly before check-in: sand and dirt were on the floor, the bathroom walls were very dirty, the toilet hadn't been flushed, and a door hinge was broken so the door wouldn't close. I can't say about Covid, but with that level of dirtiness I think someone could catch an STD.

There were a few decent points: the rooms had air conditioning and a mini-fridge, the pool was clean and a decent size, and the garden had plenty of shade. The pool shut at 5 pm, which seems normal for the area. The rest was a letdown. Our room had a bad stain on the wall, the AC looked disgusting, and spiderwebs and glasses hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. They seemed more focused on adding chemicals to the pool every day, which is normal, than cleaning rooms. Every bathroom had poor ventilation, a persistent unpleasant smell, and quite a bit of mold. Wi-Fi was useless unless you were at reception or in certain garden spots. The bar coffee was tiny and served in a foam container. Milk in coffee cost as much as the coffee itself, so a vending machine would probably be better and cheaper. Parking was a nightmare. A few days before arrival they confirmed they'd reserved a spot. I don't mind that the lot was a walk away, but it took over an hour of back and forth with their parking contractors before they let us park. Staff told us to keep insisting instead of contacting them directly. After five refusals and five trips between the hotel and lot, they finally called and it was sorted. I don't understand why I had to find a spot and argue to get in after being assured there would be one.
