Riva Hotel

There are lots of trees and bushes around the garden, which make the surroundings feel pleasant and cool. The garden apartments are spacious, and the pool is huge, clean, and shallow enough to be good for kids. We spent four days here as a family, and the staff were polite and kind. The location is great, and the food was tasty, with something interesting for the kids each time. A great fit for an easy-going family with children.

The price was good, and the receptionist was awesome 😎. My room, though, was packed with extra beds. I also found an insect that looked like the one in an online photo, something long with lots of legs. I couldn't tell what it was or whether it was dangerous. I didn't have time to take a picture, just get it out of there!

There's lively nightlife nearby, with restaurants, market stalls, and adult shows. The pool is large, though it seems better suited to children and teenagers than adults. This isn't a luxurious hotel, but it's fine for a backpacker staying a night or two.

The food was disgusting, and the staff were awful. They charged roommates for damage to equipment that had happened before check-in. How is anyone supposed to inspect under the bed or similar spots? New guests should photograph everything when they arrive, because they might be charged for anything, and no bill will be issued. Be very wary of the good rating. Some names may belong to people connected with the hotel, or to fake accounts made to help Riva. That makes the rating untrustworthy. Zero rating.
