Guest House Dream

The apartment was furnished and comfortable, with a lovely large terrace, and the place seemed to be maintained. Still, the rest left us disappointed. Maybe the New Year season had something to do with it, but cleaning was poor in several areas: the bathroom and room were dusty, and there were cobwebs. One bedroom smelled of cigarettes the whole time, which was really unpleasant.

It’s on a quiet street, not far from the center, with groceries, a butcher, pharmacy and lunch-menu restaurants close by. The host was welcoming, the rooms were kept up, and the mineral-water pool was very clean. I’d come back if I had the chance.

Dirty dishes and bins that hadn’t been emptied made for a disgusting stay. The host was rude and uncultured, and had appointed a “guest manager” to fend off reasonable complaints and tell guests to fix problems themselves, at their own expense, even when paying 250 leva a night. I hope this miserable hotelier realizes that friends who chase away his customers won’t help when money gets tight. Or were they paid to make up for the 750 leva loss?

The hosts are kind and quick to help. It’s clean and cozy, and close to the center. A great place to stay.
