We had lunch at Al Rayes, the same place, since I know the restaurant. When I asked for the receipt, though, the waitress asked me for a tip. Nobody in Bahrain has ever asked me for tips before. We usually tip as a courtesy, so that left our day feeling frustrating. I visited for a pool day pass. Towels aren’t provided, and getting them costs the same as the entrance fee, which I think was around BD 12-13. The pool was okay, and the beach is tiny, though cleaner than it used to be. If you want to enjoy the place, I’d go very early, before the drunken boys arrive and the music turns into cheap Arab disco.
