Hotel Diva

We tried breakfast this time, on our second stay at Diva Hotel, and it was a pleasant surprise. There wasn't a huge selection, but both the Arabic and Indian dishes tasted genuinely good. The rooftop pool and its nice view are another thing we enjoy. It's not overly fancy, but we like it, and we'd come back to Bahrain and stay here again depending mostly on the room price. The first room they assigned us on the 14th floor was non-smoking, but the hallway and room both smelled strongly of cigarettes, so we asked to change rooms. That was handled without a problem. Before bed in the second room, on the 11th floor, we found that none of the outlets worked: no fridge, AC or lamps, just the ceiling lights. Maintenance fixed it about five minutes after we reported it. Most of the staff were very friendly, though one receptionist was noticeably less welcoming. We could hear some club music and noise from the lower floors until around midnight, but earplugs made it easy to deal with.

We had a great stay and a good experience. Sudha on the hotel staff treated us warmly and helped us a lot. He really added to our stay.

The hotel is good, but I ran into a problem on my last trip. I had booked one night through Booking.com for December 14, 2025, and had prepaid a nonrefundable reservation. At reception, Sudha treated me roughly and impolitely, delaying my check-in while asking me to pay VAT. I explained that VAT was included in the prepaid booking, but she insisted I pay 3.4 Bahrani Dinar for it. I asked for the manager, and it took some time before they accepted the reservation. No one apologized.

I love the hotel, but the spa service falls short of the property's standards. I paid for a full body massage, but what I received was incomplete and not as advertised. When I went back to share my feedback, nobody took responsibility, offered a fix or seemed willing to address it. I can't recommend the spa until its service and customer handling improve.
