Phoenicia Tower Hotel

Families, stay away. The smell was very bad as soon as we walked in, and there was noise everywhere. There’s no parking. The bathrooms are old, the pillows are old and uncomfortable, and everything just felt bad. Not suitable for families.

We arrived around 10 pm to a filthy room and found no fresh towels, soap, or handwash. We called reception and housekeeping but got no response. At 10:30 pm there was nobody at reception to complain to, so we had to buy soap and handwash from a nearby supermarket. Providing these basics is the hotel’s responsibility. We booked through booking.com and paid about 5BD in taxes, roughly 50 AED. The receptionist then charged another 4BD, around 40 AED, as tourism tax, even though booking.com had clearly charged it already. Since it was late, we didn’t argue. I’ve attached photos so people can see the cleanliness for themselves. For about 25BD, you can get a much better room. I wouldn’t spend even 5BD on this one. The online photos were very disappointing. There should be an option to see the room and get a refund if you don’t like it. I would never recommend this place.

It feels like home away from home. The staff are super friendly, efficient, and always ready to help when you need something. I can proudly say this is the best hotel in the world.

I first had a smelly room, but they changed it. The room itself isn’t bad, though the cleanliness could be improved. The bathroom is shown in the attached photo, which I hope is relevant. If you’re tired, don’t book here. The music plays from 10 pm until 2 am, and you can feel the bass vibrating in your ears.
