The bay is one of a kind and full of turtles, and Le sereno is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are well made, with wood finishes that are a masterpiece. My one complaint is the very slow breakfast service, even though there seem to be plenty of staff on the floor. Coffee can take up to 10 minutes. We asked for bread and avocado, got the avocado after 10 minutes, and the bread never arrived. That’s definitely not the service you’d expect from a five-star hotel.

The service was great, and so were the food and wine list. But the dinner DJ made you feel like they wanted you out. At 7:00, it wasn’t dinner music, it was a bad club closing-time soundtrack.

The lagoon’s a protected sea turtle habitat, which makes this a great spot for snorkeling. Housekeeping was excellent, and Guest Relations took great care of us. Service at Al Mare was uneven over the week, though Ruben still gave wonderful pool service even when he wasn’t feeling well.

After four nights here, we were already talking about coming back. The lagoon goes on and on in shallow, knee-deep water, and the hotel was a perfect place to return to after days of partying. Our room was beside the pool but stayed really quiet, and the service was impeccable.

The rooms, food, and service all made this an impeccable stay, and the atmosphere is hard to match. Our group of ten has traveled widely in the Caribbean and elsewhere, and we all felt this experience stood apart, even though we’re used to five-star resorts. From check-in through checkout, everything was outstanding. The Bar/Restaurant team, especially Simone, and the Front Desk staff were wonderful. They give hospitality a whole new meaning. We can’t wait to see you again, Sereno. Keep it up! ❤️
