The driver was very friendly, but the stay wasn't a good experience. Check-in was supposed to be at 2 pm, yet we didn't get into our room until 2.55 pm. They said the previous resident hadn't checked out on time and didn't seem concerned, with no proper apology. Housekeeping had then rushed through the room. The room was old and poorly maintained. I don't think I'll come back.

The location was impeccable, with lots of western, eastern, and local restaurants, shops, nearby sights, and the water village all within walking distance. The room was clean and the staff professional. It's a simple, affordable hotel with a very basic room: a desk and chair, TV, bed, and bedside table. The bathroom was old, which fits the price. Reception staff were polite and spoke very good English. There was no tea, coffee, toiletries, or water in the room. One plus was free transport from the airport if arranged in advance. Public transport in Brunei is very poor, and taxis grossly overcharge, as happened to me. If requested, the return trip costs 10 Bruneian dollars.

The location near the city center is handy, and the staff were helpful. I found the airport shuttle much more convenient than local taxis, and the stay was good value. Breakfast isn't served at the hotel, but they have an arrangement with a nearby restaurant where you can get it for a fixed price.

The hotel is well placed for the city and its main sights, so we walked to most places instead of taking taxis. Nearby, we found an Indian restaurant less than 50m away, along with convenience stores, supermarkets, and ATMs. The hotel also works with travel agencies. We booked our Ulu Temburong Day Trip through them at the same rate, including pickup and drop-off at the hotel, and it was very well arranged with interesting guides. There’s a washing machine, though you need to bring your own detergent. Breakfast was included as a coupon for a set meal at the MyTown restaurent next door, but there were few vegetarian choices. Our room was in rough shape. The air conditioner began leaking a few hours after check-in. Housekeeping put down towels at first, then a technician spent an hour fixing it the next day. Several floor tiles were broken and made a loud noise when stepped on, shaking nearby furniture. The TV didn’t work, possibly because the remote was broken. Things attached with temporary nails kept falling down with the slightest nudge. In the bathroom, the hand shower was hung on a loose nail and kept dropping, and the water pressure was very weak. Towels were missing until we called reception, and there was no dustbin on the first day. The room was small, with little space for luggage. From outside, and in the lobby and reception, the hotel looks very new, perhaps because those areas have been renovated and maintained. It’s only inside the room and toilet that you see how old and worn the place is.
