Stoneville Hotel

The dishes are varied, tasty, and reasonably priced, and having a restaurant alongside the hotel makes StoneVille Hotel a handy stop in Bangar, Temburong. It is a little out of the way, but I think it's worth going. A good choice if you're after fresh udang galah (giant freshwater prawns).

There isn't much happening at night. Most shops close before 7 pm, and the nearby town feels quiet because there aren't many people around, so bring something to eat if you might get hungry late. The hotel is a good distance from town, beside a small forest, which makes for quiet nights. The room is enormous, probably big enough to play badminton in. There's a Thai restaurant downstairs with really nice food, though it's a little expensive. The business offices, including DST and a bank, mainly serve locals and official business.

The room is huge, and I reckon you could fit seven single beds in it. A long sofa would be a nice addition. The Thai-style food was great, which is my kind of cooking. There's no lift, but the stairs weren't too steep for me even with gout. I was on the second floor and went up and down several times a day, with my room conveniently near the staircase. I don't think they offer food room service, and there weren't any complimentary drinks or tea and coffee in the room for the morning.

The rooms are roomy and nicely designed, but it's a shame there are no lifts. Even being on the second floor was a bit inconvenient for my older grandparents, and the place definitely isn't accessible for people with disabilities. No hairdryer or electric kettle either. Kind of pricey.
