Grandma was so caring when my partner got sick. She even made him plain boiled rice to help. Later, when blockades left us stranded for a few days, she hosted a BBQ at the hostal for the tourists. As the risk of violence increased, Marisa accompanied us halfway to the border to keep us safe. The hosts were amazing and made this place worth staying at. It's close to central Copacabana, with easy access to shops, restaurants and bus companies, but far enough from the traffic and cars. The facilities have what you need, the bathroom is clean, and there's hot water for showers any time of day. Breakfast each morning included tea, coffee and bread with jam.

The owners were the kindest I've met so far in South America. They let us check in early, gave us a larger room with four beds instead of two, did our laundry perfectly, and helped with recommendations for the city. Perfect all around.

I arrived really ill, and the hosts made me plain rice and gave me plenty of boiled water. Then blockades stranded us in Copacabana. The hotel put on a BBQ for us, and even with threats of violence from the blockaders, the hosts escorted us to the border. Absolutely fantastic, can't recommend them enough. Come for Copacabana, stay for abuela!

The owner was the best person I've met on my six-month trip so far. She did everything she could to make my stay good, including sending my passport to LA Paz after I forgot it at the hostel. The place was lovely, right in the center of Copacabana but far enough away to feel peaceful and calm. Highly recommend!!!

Mary was especially lovely, always smiling, and the staff were the best. The place was clean, only about a five-minute walk from the bus station, and my single room was quite warm, unlike other buildings that were always very cold. There was a hot shower heated by gas, so no risk of an electric shock like I'd read about in reviews of other places. Breakfast wasn't the best, but I made some oats with one of the bananas provided.
