Hostal La Casa del Sol

The quieter residential setting suited us, though reaching the city centre means walking up a short, steep slope. At this altitude, it can leave you huffing and puffing. It wasn’t a problem for us, but could be difficult for anyone with mobility or physical issues. The property is a short walk from Plaza 2 de Febrero and the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Copacabana, and gets away from the city centre bustle, especially at weekends. Our room was cosy, spacious and clean. The hot shower worked decently, which mattered on chilly nights. Breakfast was basic but enough: jam and cheese toast, a piece of bread, cereal and yogurt to take, plus coffee or tea. There are lots of open areas around the property, and we could hang out there after checkout while waiting for our bus. We could also use the shared bathrooms. Wi-Fi was slow, especially in our room, but still worked.

I was there in July, and the host was friendly and accommodating. The location worked really well, and I especially liked the big garden. It was a lovely spot to sit in the sun with a cup of coffee.

A quiet residential spot, just a short walk from the central activity. It’s a homestay style place with rooms set around a nice garden, run by a lovely couple and helped by Kira and Luna the dogs. Breakfast is plentiful.

We loved the quiet area and the hosts were kind and helpful. The little casita was just right for us, with access to a basic outdoor kitchen that was enough for simple meals. Wi-Fi worked great, and the shower was warm and very big. The bed was a little hard, but we still slept fine. It’s about 5 minutes from the center and 10 from the pier. There’s a hill to climb when leaving the house, though it isn’t very long. Fair price, clean and safe, with good service. We’d recommend it completely!
